Give me a couple days and I'll have a report with pictures on the Taigen Metal version Stug. At first glance it is nice But I immediately see things we would all change.
Like the mickey mouse battery, no word of a lie it is about 1/3 the size of a regular 1700 mah, probably has 5 minutes of play time on it.
So basicly it is a Stug with the high end torsion bar lower, Unfortunately it has the HL recoil and the newer gun elevation. Makes me sad as I had though that there is enough room in it to have an asiatam type recoil/elevation.
It does have the track tensioners and quick release hull which is nice, High tension flash as well. The upper is plastic which when you think about it is good as it allows you to mod the Tank to suit what you want. Fairly heavy so that driving in grass the tank will not float. Silver cast tracks and not the Black closed pin.
If I was keeping it as with ALL taigens the electronics would be the first to go, They are atrocious and I am being kind. I would mod the inside to take a full battery as the little one that comes with the Tank is not impressive by any means.
Bit disappointed because I thought it would come with less work required, Happy on the other hand that just a Clark Stug board ( Did I mention I will be stocking Stug III boards with the proper sounds? ) and a servo and this little baby is ready for the field. Moving the insides to fit a big boy battery is not a major feat.
All in all I would score this Tank an 8.4
Cost on the Tank will be $330.00 ( $412.00 with the Clark TK22 Stug III board uninstalled and 1 Hi-Tec HS-81 servo uninstalled )
