| First real one of the new season! We will begin to certify tanks for the upcoming competition so bring one that you want to use for the season! ALL Tamiya will be good to go provided they test out fine. We will be setting up Clark boards, IBU's, ELMOD, etc... to simulate the same battle damage as the Tamiya's have to level the battlefield.
First certified battle will take place at 11:00 am so come early so you can set up your tank and have it certified!
Keep in mind not all battles with be the certified type. There will be lots of open competition battles for all your other tanks! :-)
Please indicate that you are coming so we can plan numbers for lunch. Don't forget bring $5.00 for lunch! :-)
for those who are not paid up members remember, you will be required to pay a $25.00 fee to participate and play at the field.
Always a good idea to bring a table and tent if you have one! :-)
so please fill out the poll and let us know you are coming!
Any questions let me know!

| We'll be there without a tent but with tables and chairs. I will bring only a few of my tanks (not all). _____________________________________________ Being new to this hobby, I am meeting a super group of people willing to share their knowledge and assistance. _____________________________________________________________________________ |

| Will it be full Tamiya protocol? As per their chart especially with firing interval times? Also can a tank be registered in a different class? I know a 44 ton Panther G with a killer gun is classified as a medium tank but in the Tamiya world that makes it a barely moving pillbox after 4 hits. It should really be a heavy. |

| And that my friend is the beauty of the aftermarket boards. We can set all the parameters to what we want. so for example your Panther could take 7 hits instead of 6. Or like a Firefly which should be better than a run of the mill Sherman same thing. We can also alter the format of the damage even including turret damage... :-)
You see the issue with your Panther in the real world was that it had good protection from the front but very weak on the sides in relation to other tanks of that size and weight. :-)
We will discuss on Saturday. _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov

| Battle damage is a start. I didn't think we are going in to classes as well. Tamiya not having more refine battle damage is not really an issue. We just need to agree to a chart of what is heavy, medium and light if we are going that route.
No point in following what Tamiya thinks a Panther is. Once WE agreed on what it is we can set the tank accordingly whether it is Tamiya, Elmod, Clark or IBU

| My Panther is an IBU2U and if using the Tamiya Battle Unit it would appear from the setup and the way the tank behaves after being hit that the board uses the very same damage and number of hits that a Tamiya MFU uses. I've looked over and over again and I see no way you can customize it any further.
This is all I see in the file
;Tank setup TankType=0;0=Combat tank, 1=Recovery tank (Berge) TankClass=3;0=Ultra light, 1=Light, 2=Medium, 3=Heavy |

| Well I will be doing my last conversion on my first tank, a Taigen Tiger 1 mid to IR and will go the Clark route just not sure which one of the Clark boards to use on such a heavy tank. I'll set the Panther up as a medium for Saturday for now. Not sure how the certified battles work so I'll just certify the heavies for now |

| IBU is suppose to be an out of the box replacement for Tamiya, so as long as we are following Tamiya Battle System Standard then you are fine. IBU is plug compatible with Tamiya and HL/Torro/Taigen for this precise reason. |

| I have both IBU tanks dialed in nicely now but just needed a clarification on what class the Panther was in so I will change the class in the Micro SD card before I come to the field |

Its going to be all Tamiya for me for the certified battles anyway. Easier and don't have to adjust anything. Whatever is, is. That's call Denville rule I think. |

| I am actually thinking we can set some stuff up tonight. I have to mow the airstrip, going to mark out the speed run course. Have some trees to plant... _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov
