Well I have access to an empty garage for couple of weeks so took on Dean's 1/16 monster KT to try to get it going. Day 1 went rather well, configured the Saber 2x60amp ESC and hooked it up to the bottom. Probably over kill with the 60 amp and 6S but want to make sure the voltage matches up to the old 24v PB battery pack. Throttle down to 50% in this video. Now that we know the motors and gearbox is in working order onto the turret. Because of the Saber ESC, I have to figure out how to incorporate the Sbus version of the Tk-80 on controlling this beast. Might end up with a basic 4 channel radio and receiver and a non-Sbus Clark but we should see.
My wife did the video taping. That's her voice at the begining of the video.

Stock 2 x 15amp Clark board powering dual speakers and fine tuned the turning set-up on Clark and also ESC power curve to exponential (rather than linear) to smooth out the drive.

The Mark 1 tanks have been selling for over 20 years. The suspension system actually works very nicely and everything is metal and adjustable. It runs VERY realistically just so you know Mitch. The sprockets, wheels, idlers, and tracks are also metal. and not Chinesium but actual Russian steel and aluminum (where the tanks are actually made) Will be out at the field Friday afternoon with it... :-)

When I put in the 6S lipo the first time, the hull recoil almost killed me. Just think Heng Long or the Tong De Churchill hull recoil except it is the size of a riding mower.
If I run it on 6S and full 100% on the radio I am pretty sure it can run over people.

Perhaps it needs a horn to warn people. Not sure if KTs had them but some tanks did

You are going to need a little Capn America with a satchel charge climbing the side. Haa haa. Looks awesome!

Dean is suppose to pick it up in the morning. A lot of responsibility for me to make sure Dean is happy with it and will take it home to play on Friday afternoon !
