| I recently picked up a set of Panzer III Winterketten from IMPACT on eBay for a good price, the only reason why I got them. http://mitosal.com/16T002.htmI do like the look of them and they seem to lighter than the Matomart metal tracks. Iwas thinking of trying them on newly converted SLU Panzer III at the next Battle Day. My Tiger runs with plastic tracks, but I do have a set of metal too. So my question for you guy, what type of tracks do you run on your tank _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| I have totally same winter tracks you have. But I still keep them on the shelf because First. it is very difficult to take out the pin, So it is quite hard to be installed Second. narrow track is much better than wide one when you run it in the deep grass.. That is the reason, I changed my tracks and gear back to plastic .. |

| I thought the wider track were better in the grass. I founded that my Tiger and JadgPanther performed well in the long grass where my Panzer III struggled when trying to turn. I haven’t tried the Panzer in battle yet and it may perform better with the SLU in. I think I’ll have to test it in my backyard to see which tracks will work best.
I know that during WWII the Shermans with the narrow tracks had trouble across country, especially when the ground was muddy. Unlike the Tigers, if they pushed their engines were faster cross country.
Has anyone else notice a difference between track widths, metal or plastic? _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| I have a few tanks and I have found that the narrow tracks are not the best in grass and dirt. Go fat tracks for grass is what I say, PAN-TIGER FAT... They climb better and the Sherman with the skinny tracks have a hard time turning in the grass. Also the metal traks are stronger and add waight if you need it for traction but may slow down your Big tank. _____________________________________________ The Great Pan-Tiger |

| Yes, plastic track can not provide traction as good as metal track. it is very easy to skid when it climbing. But I still feel narrow track is better than metal track in the grass.. At least in my backyard. My tiger always throws its track , but my panzerIII never... |

It could be him. He also did it with his Sherman too! Though in his defense, he was being chased by my Tiger. Maybe that's his defensive move, roll over and play dead. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

Hey, I leave the left turn signal on to confuse you when I go right instead. I'm tricky that way. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger
