| Oh no no no... but eventually yes I 'borrowed' my Sherman's Clark just to see if everything I had thrown together works Although it looks like the Pershing will see battle before the T-34! _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I would suggest Comrade Strato that the T-34 be prepared for battle very soon... Comrade Stalin does not tolerate these state of affairs for very long... _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov

| I washed it and washed it and... well you get the idea. 105mm howitzer anyone? The short end of my barrel replacement job fits in the recoil mechanism just as well... this might actually work for close combat. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Small update... I installed my tried and tested upgrade motors & this time actually bothered doing one at a time. So I drove the tank around with 1 upgrade and 1 stock, and noticed a good difference in performance. I'd put it at about a 10-15% RPM increase under normal load. The motors have a nice torque boost too. Learned some new things as well. The screws holding the motors to the gearbox frame are 2.5M threaded. Bought a set of hex-head bolts just to test them out, and they fit nice and snug. Also removing and installing the stock HL pinion gear is a huge pain. I've been trying to find replacements but no luck.. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Strato, my boggies showed up two weeks ago and just got around to looking at them. My god that plastic is awful ? I think they have less give then the hard plastic one piece from the original. I am a little disappointed at that.
Did you use the stock springs and just replaced the swing arm or did you upgrade the springs as well ? Do you think I need to ?
There is no way you can remove the plastic wheels on the new boggies....... So I measured it and the metal rim is exactly 1 1/2 inch, so I am going to get a piece of stryene, drill a 1 1/2" hole and use it as a mask for spray painting the wheels. I should be able to do front and back but will have to leave the middle bare.

| I left the middle and insides bare as well. Not a huge concern for me really, and I didn't want to paint the small screws in there.
I'm using the stock springs and they seem pretty stiff. The first road wheel is VERY stiff, mostly because of how that suspension is designed... I'm considering cutting that spring down a little to make it a bit softer!
Yea rubber rims would have been nice... and quieter... it sounds like a freight train. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Thanks Jordan, damn! Just a bit too long. I am looking for something under 39mm. At 19000 RPM that should make them quicker! I think the standard HL is around 13,000... _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov

Hey Greg The wheels are nice, they aren't too heavy and have ball bearings throughout so they spin nicely. As Mike said the 'rubber' part is actually hard plastic and could have been better, but they are functionally very nice. Swing arms are great too. They didn't require any special work and the included machine screws fit nice and snugly holding the wheels onto the axle. Overall a great Pershing upgrade for a little more at-the-wheel weight & a smoother drive. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I just installed these bad boys... shipping from HobbyRaw didn't take too long, and was free, so.. yay! Let's just say my slow as mud Pershing suddenly became my FASTEST tank. Holy smokes. I tuned my radio down to 45% forward and 50% reverse just to get something that approaches a reasonable speed for this tank. I'll set it up on dual-rate to demonstrate Oct 18.. you won't believe this. The torque is still there, and probably moreso than any stock setup. The motors just scream RPM and power. Like YHR said in his motor post it's difficult to say whether the increase in power and speed is strictly from the motor or the fact these gearboxes have a full set of bearings throughout. I'll take it, highly recommended especially for modern tanks. These gearboxes on a larger sprocket like a Panzer III will be absolutely impossible to control. Whee!! _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Yes . These are very good gear boxes. If this was done on a 3:1 ( 4 shaft) gearbox, WWII tanks would be very happy. They are so smooth. I parked my leopard on a hill and it just rolled down the hill. I have never had a tank do that before. Lots of torque too. I run these with an RX18 . |
