I have found this difficult to research.

There is a lot of info out there on Tiger I's, Sherman's etc. but it "thins out' when it comes to the later Panther G's; which of course what an HL Panther is. I was lucky to find the info for my MNH Panther but have not found any other real good bits of data on clours/markings.

If anyone has seen aqnd good resources on the Panther colours from mid-1944 to 1945, I'd appreciate hearing about it.


I know there's a kit available to convert the G to a D and it looks very nice, but it costs more than the tank

Happened to find something for the 5th Panzer Div.

I posted a colour plate in the Gallery and there's a historic photo from the fall of 1944 to back it up.

The tank is an early G, though, no mantlet chin and the exhausts differ from the HL. But there is another site that indicates the 5th Pz. kept getting tanks, so they could have received later versions as depicted by HL.

I have read there was a shortage of photographic paper by then, so pictures of these are more rare.
