| Hello, Are there members that offer kit installation services in Oshawa or the GTA? I've purchased two Heng Long Infrared Add On Kits for 1:16 Scale Tanks from ozarmour and would like them professionally installed in my recently purchased Heng Long T34/85 and M4A3 Sherman 1:16 airsoft tanks. Thanks, Mike |

| Can you run Airsoft "And" IR kits on a stock HL? (I am assuming with the DX-18 receiver)...
Mind you can you run both on a Clark for that matter? |

| looks like i would be the closest person to you that could help. if you have the Connection Diagram with the add on kit i should be able to install it. It would be my first time working on a Heng Long set up but compared to the wiring for a clark board this shouldn't take long. looks like all it needs is to solder the IR LED to the 2pin plug. everything else should be plug in and then glue the Sensor Tower mount to finish it _____________________________________________ I do things in the name of science but first hold my beer

| Looks like a nice setup , although I don't see a 5 pin plug going to the IR port , I assume everything is run through the 8 pin connector, curious to see if it eliminates the airsoft , keep us informed , where did you get the tanks from with plastic gears ? Most places won't sell them without metal gear upgrades |

| Negaduck can help you with this no problem. Russel is good. you are more than welcome to come and play but there are a couple of things down the road you will have to do to have a "certified" tank for battling. Things light hit lights visable, # of hits to destroy the tank, etc.... Russell can explain it all to you. My advice, run your tanks till they break and then upgrade things like gearboxes, tracks, recoils, etc... | I just did a number of them for various new members. You can ask them for the quality/reference and PM me and I will give you the rate/cost. I did a Tiger I for Rugged, a M41 for Jughead, a Pershing for Bud and a KT for Tiger Power.
All standard Heng Long tank to IR battle capability. I am based out of Toronto.

| Maybe I've been playing with Clark's for too long.. in that diagram what part of the 8-pin bundle handles IR stuff on a HL? :/ _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| The 8 pin board pictured is designed for turret elevation, rotation, MG and light as per wiring diagram. If you buy a factory installed IR tank from Heng Long (Which I was told they are not producing anymore), you will get another 8 pin board which is split into 5 pin + 2 pin, the 5 pin for the IR receiver and emitter, and the 2 pin for the recoil/airsoft trigger return. |

| Unfortunately henglong stopped making ir ready tanks a couple years ago , I had a HL jagd that was factory ir , it had the 5 pin , 2 pin and factory recoil like Mike says , with a cheap mako TE board , you'd be tamiya compatible, with the exception of no programming, it only allows a 6 hit , 3 second fire , which is either an advantage or disadvantage, don't know .... |

You can program Mako. When you start up a Mako tank, there is a period when the hit indicator is steady on. During that time if you use a Clark compatible remote you will be able to program the following, which incidentally is more than Clark and has Tamiya battle features: 1: Light Battle Tank – 3 lives, 3 second reload period, 40 shell magazine capacity, 10 sec repair time 2: Medium Battle Tank – 5 lives, 5 second reload period, 60 shell magazine capacity, 14 sec repair time 3: Heavy Battle Tank – 9 lives, 9 second reload period, 80 shell magazine capacity, 18 sec repair time 4: Light Bergepanzer – 3 lives, 6 second reload period, 80 repair capacity, 10 sec repair time 5: Medium Bergepanzer – 3 lives, 10 second reload period, 80 repair capacity, 14 sec repair time 6: Heavy Bergepanzer – 3 lives, 10 second reload period, 80 repair capacity, 18 sec repair time 7: Autoberg: Automatic Bergepanzer mode. 8: MAUS Mode: Heavy tank setting firing the Tamiya 2 shot kill code. 9: Heng Long/Taigen MFU selection and optimisation 0: Display Diagnostics – Displays current MAKO setting on the Diagnostic LCD (sold separately) P+: Turn on Coup de gras function (default) P-: Turn off Coup de gras function Which reminds me to put Mako on my Maus and turn on Maus mode on the next battle day. |

| Your gonna have to put 2 apples on that monster ! The older mako boards were programible, the newer mako TE boards which are mass produced thru rcta are not , they only signal reference a hit from a tamiya and give one back , it's a great setup for any newbie out there , who's on a budget , and get the members like Mike, Russell or Jordan to set it up for you , very economical |

| send it back and get your money, then use the cash to buy a new board that will get rid of all the terrible HL actions, support better sounds and IR battles that are compatible to a Tamiya type system. that ir kit probably set you back 1/3 of the cost of a new board anyway.
Using that system the only tanks you can fight are other heng longs, don't think any of these guys have HL systems in their tanks |
