| Subject: longer run times, more pep, lighter weight.... Fri Mar 30, 2012 10:02 pm | |
| so you might be wondering what i am talking about. well im talking about chainging what kind of battery we use.
im coming from a different branch of the rc hobby. i run off road buggies and truggies. and to power my cars i run lipos.
with lipos, they are 7.4v (at 2 cells) vs the 7.2 nimh. lipos tend to be much lighter and hold there peak charge better then nimh.
a fully charged lipos will always be 8.4v and it slowly goes down till its drained at 6v. at 6v, the tank its self has a low voltage cut off as when i ran my tank low (took well over an hour on a 1800mah) the tnk creeps, the lights dim, signs that its low in power.
i bought 4000mah lipos that fit in the tanks, they are about the same lenght and width, but not as tall and they are lighter.
the lipos cost me less then 20 after shipping. and took about 1 week to get here. i also ordered my controlled from the same place. the place im talking about is hobbypartz.com
im not a spokesmen for them, i just find thay have great prices for radios, nimh and the lipos i like to use and any order no matter the size, its $10 to ship. |
