| No Tk-60 for me...... Upgrading some to IBU3 and slowly moving everything else on to IBU2. You basically have to be a computer geek though for setting up the programming for IBU3. Not for everyone for sure. |

| Got tired of burnt boards and mis-matching sounds. Not to mentioned the IR problems. |

| I use the IBU boards too (IBU2 Pro on my King Tiger and IBU3 for my Tiger I). Jumped straight into them from the vanilla HL electronics. Costly but short of me doing something idiotic like loading cherry bombs in my tank or turning my tank into a submarine are definitely sturdy.
I do agree with you with setting up the programming software for IBU3 being a pain in the butt but I do love how easy it made it to switch from Ni-mh to Lipos and back again compared to the IBU2. I still do like being able to just swap out MicroSDs for different configs/soundsets in the IBU2 though. _____________________________________________ We shape our fate as our fate shapes us

| I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted as hell to get an IBU2U. I'll wait until I start my next build though. _____________________________________________ We shape our fate as our fate shapes us

| Wouldn't surprise me if they stop selling IBU3 as there is nothing really that the IBU2U can't do, for less and not PC interface needed for configuration, |

| Hello Tankers,
New to this hobby. I have a Tiger 2 (Tamiya Upper-Heng Long lower)and Tiger1 late production Taigen. I am going to customize Tiger 1. I was thinking about installing the IBU2U and using a either a FS-i6 or the Radiolink AT9 controller. (Still researching) Am I on the right track? Are these available in Canada or must I order from Europe? I enjoy reading and learning from all the posts on this site.
Thanks so much. |

Thanks so much. I order my IBU stuff from RC Tank Electronics which is from the UK. They're pretty reliable and they offer bundles with both the IBU and a paired flysky remote. I've linked an IBU2U bundle that they are offering (they're on vacation until end of July though so orders won't get processed until they get back) http://www.rctankelectronics.com/store/p110/IBU2U_%26_Radio_Package.html _____________________________________________ We shape our fate as our fate shapes us

| I also get it from rctankelectronics from U.K. As Ian is the cheapest even with shipping. There is no North American dealers anymore.
I also try to hunt down used ones as well on the uk forum and Facebook group as they also pop up there once in a while. Basically that's how I got all my IBU3's as it is the most complicated ones to configure and people buy it not realizing you need to install a PC software to configure them.
Right now you can get the base IBU2 for only £75. |

| Thanks so much for the advice. Appreciated. I don't know that I can program so that is why l am leaning to IBU2. The bundle they offer looks good. |

| Configuration for the various IBU boards:
IBU2 - 8 port dip switch on board and MicroSD card IBU2U - MicroSD card IBU3 - PC Front-end and real time USB connection
The IBU3 PC Front end is a little tricky as it uses direct USB access via drivers. It does involve basic PC working knowledge. Wasn't a big deal for me as I was in the IT field before but could be challenging if you don't know your way around a PC. No Mac front-end. The other difference is that your tank has to be power up and connected via USB before you can program it. |

| Hi Mike,
Thank you so much. I am really leaning to the full option IBU2U. I believe I reviewed it based on earlier posts of yours. I have a question that you may be be able to help with. They can bundle it with an FSi6. They say that theirs is better than one I could buy on eBay etc. Is that soÉ Do you think the FSi6 they sell is a good value(QUESTION MARK).My machine only wants to type an e with an accent when I want a question mark. Strange. Notwithstanding, new at this and I still have much to learn re RC controllers. Thanks again. |

| No, I am not impressed with their speakers. I know it is brand name and all, but I still preferred either the upgraded Taigen mini ones, or Tamiya speakers with the casing, or larger no name ones I can get from local electronic stores like Sayal. |

| Speaking of Speakers.... Anyone have any links to some decent aftermarket ones that work well with the Clark TK22's (and others) that are small and compact? |

| Speaking of clarks and ibu's , does any body know if ibu's are more consistent than Clarks , as with emitter strength , range , and taking hits |

| After couple of years of tinkering with Clark, and the last 6 months or so with IBUs, the big difference is that when there is a problem, with Clark board it is usually the board, with IBU it is usually other stuff. Enough said. |
