Just wondering... I know that many of us are willing to put in the work/effort/pay others to install a servo driven recoil system into our tanks. My question is how many people actually utilize the servo elevation systems that the Clark (etc...) boards are able to utilize?

I ask as I am looking to make some Clark-ish style of recoil units and want to determine if I should design for servo elevation or not...
Yes Dean, I'm thinking of a super compact version for those small turrets you are complaining about... Or stop using those giant fingers to stick into turrets Smile

Mike, the Clark servo elevation is pitiful to say the least. With servo elevation and rotation in theory you can just use another channel on the receiver which gives you much better results. The only problem is that with Clark's elevation set-up (left stick upper middle left and right control) you can't map it to the new channel. For rotation you can simply mapped it to the same left right as Clark and you will get the sound effect as well.

In general I only have servo elevation and rotation on moderns since the WWIi Era tanks the standard Heng Long units are more than sufficient. If I am looking for something a little faster I would replace the stock 130 motor in the Heng Long units with a faster one.

I thought about that with using a Pot on the 9XR Pro and having it control Turret Elevation (assign it to a channel), the only difference would be the lack of elevation noise.

Or you can map it to left stick up/down, but still no sound. Don't know why Clark decided to use such difficult control for elevation. On IBU it is exactly that, left stick up down half way for elevation, all the way for firing main gun and MG.

I will get off the IBU soapbox now and stop bitching about Clark.
