The CAN-AM RC Tank Club is a group of remote control tank enthusiasts that meet together to run our tanks on a miniature battlefield and conduct simulated battles using Infrared combat systems.
One week left! Please note: for all those non members planning on attending the July KW Garrison meet. The fee will be $30.00 for the weekend. What do you get for that $30.00 you ask? Well, first you get to battle on a great outdoor field with lots of new improvements and obstacles just to make your battling experience more difficult! Second, you will receive 3 tickets for this year’s raffle draw. The draw includes: a beautiful Trumpeter 1/16th T34/76 kit with the full interior and PE parts. Also 2 x 1/72 Waltersons IR battling Abrams tanks, and a really nice die cast F-22 Raptor kit. Third, we will provide a lunch both days BBQ burgers, dogs, ribs, salad, etc.. Of course any donations to the cause much appreciated! All paid up KW Garrison members will also receive this deal FREE of course.
People ask why the fee? Well, just to give you an idea, Ed and I are rapidly approaching the $3000 mark for purchases toward the field. Things like the trailer, buildings, RR stuff, extra guns, bunkers, figures, vehicles, paint, weed killer, construction materials, gazebo, etc... Of course this doesn't include the countless hours we have spent building it. We don't ask a lot and we try very hard to give value for the money. We have the same deal as the Flying Dutchmen R/C aircraft guys. In order to have a field we must belong to the Gun Club which means an annual membership of $125.00 for them and $25.00 for the KW Garrison, and we even give you a T-shirt!
Now we understand not everyone will put up that kind of money but we have to put a value on visitors coming to play or else why would anyone join? I should point out too that going forward we will be have greater frequency of battles at our location. We will not conflict with the existing fields but will be having them regularly in between officially sanctioned battledays. If anyone has any questions at all about this or anything else by all means contact Ed or myself.
For you newbys coming bring lots of quarters! We have a fine system on our field. Hit a building, telephone pole, tree, vehicles, figures, etc.. costs you a quarter!
Also our new CANAM/KW GARRISON digital camo ripstop nylon hats have arrived! Price for non Garrison members is $25.00 for members $15.00. LIMITED QUANTITIES! WHILE THEY LAST!
And last but not least, please let us know by filling in the poll if you will be attending so we can figure out the food.
So far confirmed:

Man! What a hot day! I did a little work on the Chateau grounds and Ed did a LOT of work on his railroad! Here are a few pics of the Chateau and some video of us testing the Train on the new tracks...
And so it was time to test the train! Sorry, 3^4 are reversed

There are a few more guys coming who have not marked the poll yet. If you would be so kind lads, much appreciated! That way we can plan for food. This will go rain or shine as we will use the hall if need be.

For those who are coming for the first time. I know most of you will have GPS but sometimes landmarks help too. Here are the directions: Come up the Hwy 8 expressway through Kitchener Waterloo. As you head north out of town you will pass the Northfield exit. The next one is Regional Road 15 St. Jacobs. Get off at that exit and stay in the left lane to turn left at the lights. This is also know as King St. North. Keep following it past St. Jacobs market and around the curve to the right and you will come to a set of lights you are going to turn left on. There is an ESSO station kitty corner to the lights. You are now on Lobsinger Line. Go about a KM and on the right you will see the Northside Baptist church and the corner immediately after it on the right is the 3 BRidges Road. You will see a gun club sign there. Turn right and go down that road about 2 km's and on the left after a house you will see the Gun club sign and our Garrison sign on the bottom. Turn left there and just follow the road all the way past the club and the field is on the right at the end!

It's like last weekend. 60% chance of rain and it tinkled in Mississauga. I looked at it first thing this morning and it was down to 20 across the board. Now the highest it is is 50 at 11 tonight and 45 at 5 pm tomorrow night. In between it is like 15 -20 so I don't think we have too much to worry about. At worst case we can use the hall to conduct things.... At this point we estimate 15 people coming for Saturday so should be good... The field is in perfect shape and even if it does rain a little won't hurt it at all...

Hey Dean what is Sunday's plan ? Might be back in town a day early from my vacation and try to come out. Also arranging for a pick-up at the Winona Garden guy to pick up a tank from him on the way in at Guelph.

Okay if John from Winona Garden is okay for me to go pick up the tank in Guelph I should be there for a little bit. Any plans on battles or just working on the field ? I guess you will have a better idea after tomorrow. Do post some pics and updates after tomorrow so I know what to expect and to bring out.

No real working on the field Mike, it's all pretty much done. Town is bigger, train area is bigger, roads are bigger. But Damn! we still need more trees! LOL! But now we do have some grass...
We will just be playing tomorrow and Sunday...
