| I'm not up on Tamiya too much but I think if you want a smoker you will have to use after market board like Clark, ElMod, IBU...
If you can forgo the smoke then I would go for OEM Tamiya parts if you can find them cheap enough because not sure what you paid for this exactly but having to buy the electronics after market will probably be more expensive than buying a new kit... _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." | I paid 350$ canadian for it. Ill probably go with an aftermarket board. Any recommendations as to what would be a good buy and where to get them from? |

| Give guys on here a chance to read it. Maybe someone has an extra board which will give you a start. I don't have a Clark KT I don't think but will check. In the meantime do you have RC experience? _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov

| Well my friend, hope you have deep pockets! LOL! Has Ian shipped it out to you yet? If not you may want to consider having someone build it up for you here and then ship it out. But if you want to do it you will need a radio obviously, $100 , main board from $120 to $300, battle unit $120, speaker from $15 to $100, barrel flash $30, (can't see if it has that or not) full set of wiring cables $30 for new board, smoker $40, receiver for the radio $25, and probably more I'm not thinking of... _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." | Ya figured it will cost a bit to do not looking to get it running right away as i stil need to paint it and such. I dont mind doing it myself would be good to learn and get the experience. He said hes going to ship it out this week sometime. Looks like the turret is complete with the flash unit, ir unit ill get alittle later on as there is no one local to me that runs them that im aware of. Main thing will be getting the main board, speaker, battery, radio, transmitter and anything else that ill need to get it to almost IR battle ready. |

| Damn Ian is selling again ? $350 CAD is not bad for this roller since the turret is complete. There is flash unit in the turret as far as I can tell from the pictures. My opinion is that it would be a pity if you use aftermarket board since all the plugs and stuff are there already for Tamiya electronics. If I were you I would see if you can get hold of a set of matching Tamiya electronics instead. It will probably set you back another $500 but then you just need a radio and receiver.
I also noticed that this is the twin motor set-up, so you have make sure you get the right KT electronics since the older Henschel ones are all single motors. Tried AAF Museum and see if there have stock.
Because it has the twin motor set-up you can pretty well get any electronics you want (Clark, IBUs or Elmods). |

| Do you happen to have a link for AAF or somewhere i can look at the parts? Like i said im new to this so just learing things as i go. I agree though tamiya may be the best way to go since its already a tamiya tank. The easier it is to install the better for my first go around i think. |

| well since i was the last one on this forum to build a Tamiya KT porsche i guess i should direct you to my build thread. https://can-amrctankclub.canadian-forum.com/t423-king-tigersas for the electronic i didn't post much on it. I'm using a Clark board but just like your one all tamiya hardware. I also modded the tamiya speaker box to hold my smoker unit. if you like i can send you pics of my set up and if i'm around on a battle day i can help set it up _____________________________________________ I do things in the name of science but first hold my beer

| Most helpful thanks! Ya working out the guts is where im at until i have the tank in hand. If you wouldnt mind i like the idea of the smoke unit in the speaker since if i go tamiya speaker leaves little room for a smoke unit. That would be great but i live in BC on vanvouver island haha |

| I was going to say that Tamiya didn't have a fully RC KT w/Porsche turret (Just a drivable version). The turret rotation rollers look like they have been ripped out of a different upper.

| Ya ian said he had added all the electronics to the turret. Elevation, rotation, flash in barrel, and believe it has a recoiling barrel. He said he custom worked the turret with tamiya parts since the turret origionally did not have any options like you said. |

| The flash unit is definitely there. It is the thick black wire with the caution sticker and the four pin connector. Usually CN7 on the Tamiya MF unit. _____________________________________________ You may be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper! - Death

| Ya i saw it in the pictures he had takes up most of the bore in the muzzle break. Only part im unsure of is if it does have the recoil unit it looks like it does but cant tell due to lack of experience hehe but im happy with the buy. |

| Okay so i heard back from AAF they said "this is a very old kit and all parts are discontinued. I can get you a newer dmd and mf, for a king tiger, but I do not know if any of the other electronics will plug and play" any ideas where to go from there? |
