I have a mix of batteries with Tamiya and Deans connectors.  I have heard that some of you do not like the Tamiya connectors and prefer the Deans connectors.  Today I have been testing and charging all my batteries and been exposed to Deans connectors.  My problem began with unplugging the Deans connectors.  I had to resort to carefully and gently using a vise-grip and pliers to get those Deans apart.  I didn't damage either but was wondering how those that use Deans exclusively deal with separating these connectors.

I only use Deans and i just grip and pull them apart but at the same time you can buy the knockoff deans that have i guess you can say grip ridges that help to pull them apart

I've used nearly ever connector out there for RC stuff. As I posted a few years ago...

DEANS "T" vs TAMIYA BATTERY CONNECTORS Electr10

Continuous Amp ratings:
Deans - 50A
JST/BEC - 5A
Tamiya - 15A (If you are drawing more than 15A continuous in our tanks, you are jamming tracks...)
EC3 - 60A
HXT 4.0 - 93A
Traxxas - 100A
XT60 - 60A
Futaba/JR - 3A

I melted the solder connection on an EC3 connector with a hopped-up Corsair once... it landed!
