Never been a big fan of the Sherman but I was watching an excellent multi part documentary Marines In The Pacific and the ones the Marines were using on Peleliu looked really cool in the jungle with the tracks laid up the front and what looked like smaller turrets. I believe that the Marines tended to get the oldest equipment or Army rejects. With the seemingly hundreds of variants are any of the Heng Long etc Shermans even close to this one?
  

So i found this fascinating account of the Marines tanks. They preferred to use the M4A2 diesel engined variants unlike the army due to diesel being readily available because that what was used in their landing crafts etc.
