Calling all combat engineers. March 31st (Weather Permitting) at 10 am will be a day of construction, digging and cement. Bring a shovel, a couple of $1 bags of soil and your work boots.

At the February battle day, we made some decisions on how we would like to change the current battlefield layout. A couple of hills need to be relocated, the village will now span the river at the fork, and a few other changes need to be made (ie roads). I am planning to bring a few bags of quick-crete to make some foundations in the village.

We plan to break the field into 5 sectors. The center will contain the village, the other 4 corners will have the German Airfield, Russian Farm, Allied base and German base.

Lets hope that the weather holds out, else we will have to reschedule. If you plan to help out, check back here the night before in case of a last minute cancellation.

I think we are going to need more storage room, for buildings.

Can we crank up the trailer roof ( how maney feet ??) and fill in the sides with ply wood and then put in some shelves and a door ??

Also lets weed wack some of the brush at the back of the barn, to keep the bugs away and more room for walking around the feild. I can bring my El weed wacker..POWER..

Sounds good. Yes we can raise the roof on the trailer for more space. I believe we can make more room in it if we better organize it.

As for the weeds behind the barn, lets knock'em down.

I'm going to have to hitch a ride with somebody for this one. My dad is confirmed working Saturday.

Well I hope we get warmer temperatures. I think we will have to have a quick brain storm session before we begin. We need to be careful of terrain density and make sure there are clear avenues for maneuvering.

A few tasks that come to mind:

-move one or more hill.
-dig the river out more
-sod removal for village
-sod removal for main roads
-build concrete forms for village
-pour foundations for buildinds
-sod removal for German and Allied bases
-infantry trenches
-Roland is working on his bridge embutments
-If you can bring a $1 bag of soil for back filling and leveling


Finally, we should take stock of our buildings and see what needs to be repaired/repainted. I know the Church needs work.

Glen has also donated a few patio stones that I need to transport to the field.

Bring a lunch and water.

Im still thinking we should use patio stones and that concrete is a little too permanent ??

I intend to finish up my two houses this year and may be the wood bridge may need some nails.

Here is a little project I've been working on for the battlefield, a railway track. This one is just a trial piece, let me know what you think. I plan on making a few more pieces to connect together and be taken apart for storage. Who ever goes to the Renovation Day if they can keep in mind where the railroad track can go and let me know how long to make it.
