| I checked out the field on the way back from a meeting in Toronto, today.
The rough, weedy ground between the tank field and the barn and the area around the other side of the barn have been cleaned and graded with fine stone.
They did a very nice job and didn't touch the existing tank field.
Mike, the Centre said the new area is ours to use and we can put a skim of dirt over it, this might be a great way to expand the field. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Well that nice of them, that will give us some space to walk on that side may be a bench or move the trailer. As for feild size lets see what would be best.
Any word on the OK for some dirt for the field ? _____________________________________________ The Great Pan-Tiger |

| i have been very busy this week.
I will get some pictures, there is enough room to expand the field between the existing field and the barn plus tents, if we want.
Yes, we can put dirt on it.
I will post more about it on the weekend. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I will try to get to the field and take some pictures and measurements, now the area between the barn has been cleaned up and graded. I have done this rough sketch, which is not to scale, just to give a rough idea of what we have. After talking to Mike at the Centre and learning some things about the field, I can offer the following; We cannot expand towards the church, the Centre property does not go much beyond the tank field boundary. Obviously, we cannot go across the ditch. I don't think we want to go into the area where we set up the tents, however, that may change. We CAN go towards the barn (Mike says it is ours) and there may be sufficient room to both expand the field and place tents there, I will know more after taking measurements, which I will post. We can spread dirt or do "landscaping" I asked \mike about killing the grass, he locked up a bit at first, he has concerns about creating a mud-hole that attracts local kids and produces a mess, but warmed up to the idea. I think we need to work through it a bit more, I want to make sure they are good with this. Basically IMHO, the people at the Centre like us, they cleaned that piece of ground up for us, we are lucky to have the site and their support and I want to make sure we have a good reputation and relationship there. We will likely be able to kill the grass, if we want, but I just want some time for them to get used to the idea. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I was over to the field, this morning. The Black Creek Centre has done an excellent job, IMHO, the changes shown here are a major benefit to the Can Am. Here is a scale sketch of how things will look when it is done, everything is in proper proportion in the sketch; The field has been extended between the barn and the existing field, the area west of the trailer has been stone covered. The trailer will be moved, likely to the west side of the barn, then the stone will be extended east, to the driveway (this area is wet, anyway; see the last picture in this post). I asked Mike to leave room between the trailer and the barn wall., so we can still get at it from all sides The stone will settle and we can cover what we want with dirt. The field area will be 35 feet wider, all the way to the barn. We could put tents there, close to the barn and still expand the field north 15 feet, or so. If the tents go near the barn, we could also expand the field east. PLEASE NOTE: these are just my initial suggestions, not set in stone. Mike said that they are looking at putting a power outlet on the pole near the field for our chargers Extension, viewed from the east; Extension, viewed from the south; Another, from the south; Extension, viewed from the west; Extension, viewed from the north; They did a nice job where the areas meet; Lack of drainage, why the moving of the trailer and levelling and stoning is a good thing; _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Honestly it would be better to leave the trailer white . If you paint it a dark color it will turn it in to an oven and field props with glue will let go and could cause warping on other materials.
A new fresh coat of white is best in my opinion, so it doesn't look trashy and just put the name on the side that faces the road. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

Thanks, sounds good. The surfaces are old aluminum, old factory applied paint, wood patches and dirt, if that makes any difference in the paint selection. The only thing is, on a meet day, we need to get into it to get our stuff out and back in to put it away, if the paint takes a while to dry, we would have to be careful around it. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

Some of the plastic and hot glue would definitely not do well in those conditions _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| There is a reason why campers come mainly in white. Some of the props allready wrap in 7hrs in the sun during the summer months. Imagine what they would be like bake in a oven between Battledays . _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| The way the water seems to puddle at the edge of the stones, do you think this would be a good spot to dig another river bed (drainage ditch)? _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| Stince is right about the trailers being mainly white the dark colour would exsorb the sunlight where as the white would reflect the sunlight (basic science) could go with Jordan's Dak colours...lol |

yes, I was thinking about that, this morning. However, the whole extension area was just done a couple days ago and will settle. The 4 1/2 inches of rain we received has made the field and the new area like a wet sponge. it actually "rolls" as you walk on it, right now. The water does want to flow that way and in our poor drainage and clay, here, sometimes it is best just to help it along its course, which would indicate we might well have another river, there. Lets see how things "settle out" _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."
