| Yeah, it takes a bit of practice working with it. Mostly because it isn't acrylic paint. It's acrylic enamel. I find the Tamiya thinner works best, but there is a really fine line between too thin and just right.
Try using Vallejo paints for hand brushing. It's a pure acrylic and it goes on really nice. Just thin it with water and it's good to go. Tamiya thinners won't work. |

| Clark finally fully installed today! As usual she runs great. Battery is a Dynamite Speekpack 5100mah NiMh (7.2v) Spektrum AR400 reciever. $30 @ HobbyHobby in Mississauga The speaker is not fully enclosed, but mounted on a thin piece of plexiglass scrap I 'found' at work As soon as I mounted the speaker to it with engine sounds running, there was a very noticeable improvement to sound quality and loudness. Any speaker of this type should at least be mounted similarly. Due to space requirements I couldn't build it an enclosed box. There are 2 hull braces made of 4-5mm thick polystyrene sheet; 1 just aft of the gearboxes and another mounted above the battery / under the speaker. This reduced hull flex significantly, which was nice because I replaced the hull screws with magnets & thereby lost the rigidity of the upper hull. 6 1/4" magnets hold the hull together now, and I can pick up the entire tank from the upper hull and it stays together! _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| It's so fast, I'm used to 3:1 gears hehe, and weighing "ONLY" 5 pounds right now even with the skirts on... I think with metal tracks & sprockets I might break 7 pounds. Still, my lightest tank _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| It's a quick little bugger! Is it my imagination or do these Clark boards seem to be a bit faster than other systems? _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| Transmissions, decals and metal spare links arrived from tank army in Australia today. The taigen 4:1s dropped right in and had no issues fitting in the hull. They run very smooth and are already much quieter than the HL pot metal gears, I'm very happy. Managed to accidentally drill out the plastic sprocket completely because I'm an idiot, because the outside holes were too small for the larger bolts.... doh! So until I get new metal ones I won't be driving it around hehe.... incidentally panzer iii sprockets are bigger and don't QUITE fit under the fenders.... so that didn't work for me I'll build a support rack for the nose of the hull for the spare track links, and maybe add some in a few other places that are appropriate for a panzer iv, we'll see. The decals are stock HL and I'll use them sparingly... I had a hard time identifying which division they are from, I'll post pics later tonight if I can. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| This is the decal sheet I got... I know the 'Y ''' ' is the tenth panzer division but what are the other two? And which makes the most sense for a mid 1943 panzer iv g? This is my area of least expertise lol :p _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Heck no, cut out some of the smaller numbers white numbers for the rear of the turret but that's all I'll use! I want to use the unit symbols though just whichever are most appropriate... _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Jordan, the upside down peace symbol in the black shield is the 3rd Panzer Div. 1943 to 44. Or maybe it the 4th. Both divisions where part the France invasion and the sent to the Russian front. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| I found this info. Later in the war, the 4th Panzer Division symbol, along with crossed swords, was used on a Regimental Shield for 6th Panzer Regiment and was seen with the unshielded Bear on Panzer Mk IVs in Russia, 1943/44. Supposedly the colours were based on the company, the 1st had a white, the 2nd red, 3rd yellow, and the 4th a blue bear. In the Concord book 4th Panzer Division on the Eastern Front 41-43, you can find several 4th div panzers with the walking bear in different colors. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| Wow Stince those are great pics... WAY better than what I turned up :O I might have a leftover bear logo too from a Panzer III, hehe... I don't mind the HL decals, just not the big red obnoxious numbers!! >< Noteworthy on the 4th Division... "During the Polish campaign the division engaged in a series of massacres against the civilian population and POW's" Yikes >< Now I'm on the fence again... Although I haven't dug up anything specific yet I think it would be cool to have a Normandy tank around the time of D-Day, they certainly still had plenty of G's at that time. Tank looks silly under a bright flash, d'oh! >< _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT
