| Well, I think this is the first time I've started a battleday thread! Huzzah! As usual, we'll keep an eye on the weather forecast & keep everyone updated. Bring a chair, bring a pal, bring LOTS of tanks, and bring a camera! I don't know how we're doing for battlefield buildings, but I plan on a possible new bridge. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I plan to cut the grass on the Thurs. or Fri. before.
I would like to see who is local enough and able to assist with grass cutting and weed whipping.
I can usually do quite a bit of it but help and a back up would be most welcome. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Immortal is up for a donation of buildings. What would suit? Church, School, Department store? You guys tell me what you want and I'll bring a couple shacks with me. Worse case scenario is I'll break a bunch of bricks, pour them on the ground and call it rubble
Looking forward to getting down there again |

| We will need to collect the 2013 dues at this meet, these are paid to the Black Creek Centre.
I will check into the amount and the procedure to get it done and report back. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I will collect the dues for 2013 and turn them over to the Black Creek Community Centre.
I have confirmed the dues are $20.00 (same as last year)
I will print and bring the membership forms to the April Meet.

Looking forward to getting down there again We kind of have a small town / rural setting now, but I think all of your buildings would work fine. The only issue atm is that we have little room left to store buildings, so you'll likely have to truck them back with you unless you decide to leave any, if at all. Smashed bricks is a great idea, as long as its small! Gravel sized can really mess up tracks, (dont ask me how I know!!) Anyway, I'll bring a shovel and other earth moving equipment for the likely fixing-up that is required, same as last year! _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| For buildings, we might have to wait until the Battleday to see what we need and what needs to be fixed or replaced.
Though, I did enjoyed the Battleday (November, I think?) where we put out all the trees and scatter some of the smaller builds. It really opened up the field.
We may want to consider expanding the field this year since we will be having more more members attending.

| i seen some buildings once that were hinged on the side, when done you pulled a pin and the buildings laid out in 4 pieces to conserve space. I will try my hand at those. I don't mind leaving the stuff there as it will become the property of Can Am anyway. My wife curses at me for all the Tank stuff around the house. Last thing I need is more stuff for her to threaten me with - Strato50 wrote:

| I just found out there is a scheduling conflict at the Black Creek Centre and we need to make some decisions.
We would not be able to get into the building that day.
We would either need to rent a "Porta Potty" for the 20th, or consider scheduling for April 27th.
I was assured this is a "one of" situation that will not be repeated but unfortunately, it does pose a problem for the 20th.
Please post any ideas you might have. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I'll be there to help with the field maintenance...contact me to set up a time. I work on the 27th, but no problem if everyone decides on that day. I will still be there to help with the field maintenance on the Thurs or Friday. Pick the day and let me know. This is an unusual, one time event, it is a private rental and it will not be an issue in the future. This could have been avoided if the Centre had our schedule as soon as it was ready; I have addressed that, they have it now. Our other dates this year are not a problem. This is why I have volunteered for the role of liaison with the Centre, prompt communication is crucial. I am working with them on the possibility of other options including going with the 20th, if we don't go in the building. This would mean they could set some tables out for us, but there would be a washroom problem (rent a Port-A-Potty?) The other option is another date. This blind-sided me and I am trying to work through it the best I can. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| ok, I just spoke to Mike at the Centre, I think we should abandon the 20th and look at seeing which of these work;
1.) Sunday, April 21st (I have a prior-scheduled event at the Sportsmans Club, I would have decision to make, there)
2.) Saturday, April 27th
3.) Sunday, April 28th
NOTE: Probably should consider, we have at least 3 days of rain forecast, here, this week, the long range for the next week isn`t great so the filed may take a while to dry out.
Lets review our options and see what suits most of us the best.
Maybe the 27th, with the 28th as a rain date ? _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."
