A new WWII movie called Fury is in production and set for release in November 2014.

"Fury" is set in the waning days of World War II’s European theater and revolves around the five-man crew of an American tank named Fury that runs across a desperate German division.

It stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf and Clint Eastwood's son Scott. The movie will be directed by David Ayer.
Describing his project, Ayer said his goal is to “bring a fresh execution to the genre. What these men went through is worthy of a complex, honest portrayal. This will have incredible, visceral action and complex rich characters. I plan to bring tank combat to life in a way that lands with a modern audience.”

It sounds like they plan on making it some what realistic. They brought in WWII tank veterans to talk openly about their experiences to the cast.  They sent the cast to Fort Irwin National Training Center in California, for a crash course and talk to modern soldiers.

Brad Pitt was spot last week training in England in a Sherman that has the name "Fury" on the front, not sure if this the one to be used in the movie, but it looks good.

Holy awesome.

This should at least be better than the Iron Sky movie.  

Rather would have no name actors than pitt and le bouf.

Really? Hi Viz vests? Your riding in a tank for Godsakes! Not like you won't be seen!

A World War Two Tiger tank - thought to be the last of its type in working order - is being loaned to the makers of the latest Brad Pitt film.
The star has been shooting scenes for the action movie Fury around the village of Shirburn in Oxfordshire.
The German tank was restored by experts at the Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset, where it is usually on display.
Museum director Richard Smith said it was "one of the the most feared weapons unleashed by the Nazis".
He said it had a "formidable reputation and could destroy an enemy tank from over 2km away".
Curator David Willey said: "The Tiger was restored so that the public could fully appreciate what a truly fearsome machine it would have been during battle.
"Now for the first time countless numbers of people will have the opportunity to see a genuine Tiger in a contemporary war film."
Remembrance apology
He described it as "a unique piece of military heritage" and said its time on set would be "carefully managed and overseen by a group of museum workshop staff".
Another tank from the Bovington museum, its Sherman M4E8, also features in the film.
In the film Brad Pitt plays an army sergeant called Wardaddy on a mission behind enemy lines
The filming of Fury led to complaints last week because of pre-dawn explosions and the use of extras dressed in Nazi uniforms on Remembrance Sunday.
Film director David Ayer later apologised and expressed his "heartfelt apologies for any disrespect caused".
Producer Sony also issued an apology, stating that it "deeply regret any misunderstandings caused".
Nearby residents have been told to expect gunfire and explosions throughout the making of the film.
Fury, which also stars Jason Isaacs and Shia LaBeouf, is due to be released in October next year.

It will be nice to see a movie using correct tanks instead of mockups that even I can recognize.Ayer has written some pretty hard hitting cop shows so there is hope its more than the standard hollywood schlac.
