panzerkampfwagen iii need some help

New to R/C tanks so please bear with me. Just got his tank and all excited. Charged the battery last night. Went to put it in this morning and it does not fit. It look like it should be a square battery but it can with a long battery. Any one else have this issue?

Hey there AM! Welcome! I am only making a guess but is it a Heng Long PZ III? If so I am enclosing a few pics of how I modified my PZ3 in the beginning.
Mine came with a square battery.

Remove the upper hull. Take a cutting tool of your choice and open up the battery compartment. You can always screw the bottom plate back in place.

Is that the way that all the PZIII's now come? With the really small lipo and the odd shaped battery box? Easy enough to cut the chassis, but seems pretty stupid in design when all the old tanks fit full size 6 cell NiCd batteries.

I think they will be changing all of them. The T-80 started it. I guess they want to shape the battery box so that the smaller lipo doesn't rattle around in the NiMh size compartment.

If that's what they are doing now I find it odd that the battery that comes with the tank does not fit in tank with out cutting it up

Wow I guess they changed the design and forgot to tell the package guy to put in the new battery !

Hey Mike, did you have any of those smaller lipo's left? I am assuming you've modded the tanks for easy access and a larger battery?

Or anyone else for that matter? I know AngryMonkey personally, so if possible, for him to be able to play with the tank before cutting the hell outta it...

I believe I still have the original battery. And I don't use it anymore as that tank has transformed into the Imp Panzer. I bring it with me the next time I come north.
