Very nice Jordan. Please bring it out so we can see it in person at the swap meet.

Looks great, but reaffirms that I really don't want to play with resin kits...
That modified motor mount must have taken some planning... I also noticed the bracing for the cannon elevation (I was thinking you needed some when I saw the metal barrel, and then behold, braces).
Remote arm elevation? Is that due to the limited barrel elevation/depression or more dueto the lack of a huge opening in the turret base?

Mike, it was a commission build so I never got to see it painted!
Yea, with 4:1 gears the rear deck was just too high for the motors so I cut up an old plastic gearbox and swiveled it down about 45 degrees... worked great
There was VERY limited vertical spacing in the entire tank; the turret was very cramped with the thick resin so coming out with a layout internally where nothing got bound up was tricky.

Very nice! I know I have a very intense build ahead of me! Thanks for some ideas!

It'll be a process of brute force and innovation that's for sure; there's no one way to build the kit.
I only modified the gearboxes because we wanted 4:1 gears in there. I think low-profiles will fit just fine.
All of the idlers were lowered slightly.
The road wheels were a custom CNC machined set from Carson R/C... each with individually threaded hubcap bolts. The wheels cost more than most complete tanks.
Biggest pains in the butt... smoothing the inner hull for the turret traverse motor.. fenders... securing upper & lower hull.. drivers hatch...
Oh, also I got Clark to make me a one-of-a-kind TK22 with custom 122mm main gun and Russian heavy machine gun sounds...

I see you are using Red motors, are they the same rpm/torque as the black casing?

I think they are comparable to the more recent "high power" motors from Taigen etc, they're beefy.

Regular Motors are 380 size... (2.8cm diameter, 3.8cm long) The Taigen Black are 390s (similar to 380 but is 4.4cm long, usually more torque)
