Hi Guys,

For anyone interested this Saturday will be a work/play day. We can use all the hands we can get! Let me know if you are coming! I will be out for 9:30 or so work till 1  play in the afternoon. Anybody needs me to bring anything let me know! Looks like the weather will be decent at 10 degrees See you there!

I'm in. Need someone with a green thumb who can place all the trees in the holes I dig

We’ll see what we get for tomorrow as the weather &@$@@$()&$) are calling for a couple cm of snow but we certainly didn’t get the rain they called for...

It is snowing at the moment and it is accumulating, with more to come.

It’ll most likely melt before Saturday.

With the nice stretch of weather incoming finally we should be able to make a big dent in the work required to get the field ready. Probably be a good idea to bring all the buildings out tomorrow to give us an idea of what we have and where to place them. Also the trailer needs organizing inside anyway. I get the impression Toronto got a lot more rain this week than K-W for a change

Thanks to Wojtek, Mitch, Martin, Norma, Jody, Noah, and our new guy from TO whose name escapes me at the moment but he is going to sign up on the forum so I am sure he will post here shortly I hope! And also Rob and Paul who came out today. We have added 2 more new members and still expect one more! 

Got a good jump on the field today (mostly without my help) and we all know the final plan. We have lots of work days upcoming as we work toward the first battleday May 18!!! All help appreciated!

Well thanks to all that toil everybody did screening soil on Saturday we were able to make huge progress today even though in some really cool light conditions. The fill I've been dragging over isn't the best and is actually running out so the screening is going to be important on the work days going forward. More trees planted and the east side bridge is in and all the road through the farm and way into south of the river is done

It’s good to see the trestle bridge set properly and the brick roadway bedded in. It was definitely beyond me on how to place the bridge; the brain shut down as a result of either a) the eclipse* or b) exhaustion after cutting the re-bar and sledging/cleaning up the concrete pole and channel.


* The eclipse will be the go-to excuse for any irrational behaviour during the month of April.

Speaking of brains shutting down. I forgot to clean out the channel of all the crap we scraped out from under the bridge so it's effectively a dam just past where you cut the rebars from the post. Hopeit doesn't create a lake under the bridge when it rains this week. The bridge positioning was a total pain but once we moved the buildings away it looks really good on the angle rather than a straight crossing of the river

I’ll try to get out there this morning and clean up the channel past the bridge.
