Do the tanks use the same oil for smoke as the model trains?

I think you can safely use that, I am not the smoke expert here though. Dean (he'll pop in soon) actually has access to some special smoking fluid for tanks!

It does but the only problem is that your tank will smell like baby oil.

Baby oil also leaves residue and is quicker to foul the resistor than the Mega-Steam I have for the club. If you look at any recent videos like from our last battle day you will see a Panther F running around using it and a couple of other tanks... But yes, in general if you are using a fluid for a train it will work on our smokers as well...

Having said that the last indoor meet, the "diesel" smell Mega Steam was so strong we all have to turn it off. So maybe baby oil is better.

NO WAY! I have used the baby oil before the mega-steam and it is way worse smell! It smells like, well, burning baby oil! LOL! It also coats everything with a residue. Put some in your smoker and put your hand in the smoke and you will feel it. It is non toxic of course but is annoying...

Keep in mind I do have some mega-steam no scent too....
