If everything goes to plan, it will be carrying the Pan-Tiger off the battlefield.

Just check my tracking numbers, I should have my aluminum upgrade parts tomorrow and hopefully the new road wheels by the end of the week. Looks like I'll be able to start on it this weekend, and the mystery will be revealed.

Started the build today!
I'll try to post some pictures up tonight, if not tomorrow. It's fitting together very nicely. I hope to have most of it built this weekend, still waiting for the road wheels to come in.
And NO, Captian Action it's a King Hauler.

Sorry I didn't post up any update guys, got hit with a really bad flu on Sunday and I'm just recovering now. Anyway I promise pictures and here they are!
And those who thought it was a tank, sorry it's a a UniMog!?!
What is a UniMog you ask?
This is a Mog!
The Kit comes nicely packaged.
The parts with some of the upgrades.
First upgraded parts, an aluminum motor mount and a motor with more toque.
Second upgrade was a metal spur gear which all ready comes assembled.
I also upgraded the plastic bearings to some rubber sealed ones.
A little tip! A good way to spread the grease on gears, use an old paint brush! Just don't use it for painting after.

Here are some more pictures.
The rear axle.
One of the nice things about this kit is it gives you the choice to leave the rear differential unlock or locked. I decided to lock mine up, i hoping it will give it some pulling power.
Under the chassis.
Mock-up with the tires. This are not the stock tires that came with the kit.
This is really a nice kit and could easily be done in a weekend if one want too. (and was my plan if I didn't get sick )
But why I'm I posting this on a tank forum you ask?
Well my plan is to convert this over to a Canadian CMP truck with hopes that it will be able to pull a trailer for some tank recovery battles. I know it might be on the large end of scale, but it should be close. Our field is not like Danville with smooth hard ground, ours is rough and needs a beast of a truck if it going to pull tanks.

Here is a mock-up of a cab I was doing for a Bruder truck.
I know the tire are over-sized, but it has to move across a grassy field.

THIS IS SO AWESOME!!
What is the wheelbase roughly? How many different armored cars can we make from it?

The wheel base is about 6.5" wide and front to back centers about 9".

Went to finish up the Mog today, took some more pictures but I'll have to wait until upload them on the computer. ( using the wife's iPad at the moment )
I got the chassis all put together, but I had to wait for a battery to charge up before I could test it.
So while I was waiting I thought I would start on the body that came with the kit. Cut off the excesses plastic from the body was probably the hardest part of the build.
Finally with a fresh battery a got to test it! Some what.
The receiver binded easily, the steering works, but I've got no go.
First I saw smoke from the motor, yikes! So I took it after it cooled off and looked it over. One of the connentor wires was touch up against the side, so I bent it back and tested it again. Motor is working fine but as soon as I hook it up to the gears - nothing.
So tore all the gears out and replace them, double checking the manual each step. Still nothing.
Tore the whole front end apart to see if something was jamming and put it all back together. Still nothing.
After some thought, I think it might be the transmission cover. When it's tighten down the gears seem to bind up, but if I loosen it up the gear pop out place, the cover is meant to hold the gears in place.

Can you hear the motor "trying" to go?
I mean its attempted to deliver torque right, so not a speed control issue?

Yes its try to go. The motor runs fine when it not connect to the gears.
