| I am trying to come up with the best IR Emitter mount for tanks the need to have the Emitter clipped or strapped to the barrel. The idea is to have something that is easily attached and removed, that doesn't mark up the paint on the barrel. I will come up with something, but am not too proud to ask for some ideas. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Glen, I don't know how well it will work for you, but for the camera I use during the battles I hold i it on with sticky tack. I can move it from tank to tank without damaging the paint. And it even stay on when I roll the tank! _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| Stince That is brilliant, quite simple along with "thinking outside the box" I have tested it a bit this evening, I have to add a few features to the mount but I think it will work quite well, pictures will follow over the next couple days. We'll call it the Stince IR Emitter Adapter _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| There was a problem with the emitter tube twisting side to side since the putty twists. This cam be stopped using a segment of a small PVC pipe as a saddle with the putty under it. Then use Miliput to mount the tube carrying the emitter to the correct height to clear the muzzle break, Once the Miliput sets, I will smooth it out, install the emitter in the tube, then paint it to match the KT so it doesn't stand out QUITE so bad. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Progress as of 09:00 this morning; Housing, made of Easton No. 1916 arrow shaft; Rear, inner housing, slit to allow it to go over the wires; Glueing the rear, inner housing in, with three drops of Super Glue, this will hold it but these could be cut, it dissassembly was ever needed; [code] Depth check, this was done initially when the parts were being made up; _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

We'll call it the Stince IR Emitter Adapter Thanks Glen but I can't take all the credit. I got the idea from one of Tim's tanks, he was using to hold the cap on he made for his sensor. I'm glad you like the idea, your emitter is looking good! But I thought you were going to use this on your Jagdpanther? _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| I guess then it is a TSAPE Unit....................................Tim-Stince Amazing Pan-Tiger Eliminatorl Unit This is a "dry run" for the Jagdpanther installation, with some added benefit. The KT's turret does not allow for an emitter installation that tracks the gun elevation, at least without really mutilating it. Consequently, my KT's emitter is fixed in the horizontal position in the no moving mantlet. This usually isn't too much of a problem but this will give "Anneliese" the option of operating with the internal emitter in the turret, or with a barrel mounted emitter; just depends which one you plug in. This will be useful and provide some experience before I start my JP project when the next batch of SLU's arrive this fall. When the clear coat is fully cured, I will post some picture with it on the KT. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| You can also use two pieces of PVC that are glued together. The bottom section has a notch cut into it, so that it will expand slightly to give snug fit. No it doesn't move at all. | Thanks.
I was wondering if that would scratch up the paint on the barrel if it is installed and removed, repeatedly. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| There really is no reason to remove it at all. IR bulbs lasts for 1,000 of hours and I have removed it several times without issue. If you at all concerned, a lil bit of Lube of Grease first but no scratches have happened to me thus far.

Stinger Unless you're eccentric like me and want to display them without the attachment on the barrel. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Looks good Glen! Now you need is a cover for the sensor. The clear plastic bottom from a super glue bottle works well. Just have to cut it down a bit and dress it up with some paint. It's a nice way to protect it. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger
