| Ahhh, that explains why the shell is so darn huge...1/12 scale There’s no way that thing will fit/be able to run on the field, especially some of the bridges...looks like it’s highway driving only! |

| Or maybe building it and flipping it to your friend in the US! |

| Buying lottery tix tonight! I lost a bet to a friend and have to buy a rc boat. This would cover it. Ha haa Really want to see how it turns out and runs! | Mitch, not this American. Another one that buys from me quite often in Connecticut. Shoveler74 (Chris) used to come up here and battle (I don't know if you have met him) but has sadly relocated to the West Coast (kinda). Not near here anyway. |

| Hey Mike,
Genuinely sorry if I offended, wasn’t my place to comment.
I only met Chris and Cindy once during the last indoor battle day. |

| That looks so awesome! The grated hole on the underside of the hull towards the rear. Is that the intake for the water propulsion? Cheepy servo's from amazon hold up surprisingly well. I've got mostly Savox and 3 Brothers servos in my crawlers. A Reefs RC or 2 as well. The draw a bit of power though. Thanks for updates. Cheers! _____________________________________________ You may be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper! - Death

Quite strong. Plastic is very hard but shiny, and the ladder metal frame actually sits in a channel in the plastic bottom so it is very rigid, plus the skid plate help also. It is from CrossRC so I am not too worry about quality. Their 1/12 scale army trucks are legendary. |

I don't know how fast it will run in water but pretty sure it will be water proof ! |

| I wonder if it would be even worth putting heatsinks onto those brushed motors... With the clear water cover attached, there would be zero airflow in that watertight compartment. Brushed motors will get hot way faster than a brushless of the same rpm... |

| That is a good freaking point........ I don't think there is room around the motors though. Maybe I will only put on the waterproofing top when I am actually going to go into water. Otherwise it will stay open to the upper and all the hatches are operational. I just have to worry about dust. |

| The 540 brushed seems a bit overkill for the propulsion. You don't want it to go too fast or it does become a submarine. I'm sure someone will modify one of these to a water-cooled motor for the waterjet and a brushless motor for the wheels. The programmable servos are very cool. I haven't had the chance use one yet. Excellent possibilities in control. _____________________________________________ You may be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper! - Death

| The front compartment is not water tight and has a hatch to let water in so I think it can act as a ballast if it starts tipping up, or submarine mode . The 540 is so overkill it is not funny. The ESCs are programmable not the servos......... |

| Okay functional test and discovered that the rear servo is not strong enough to push (Pull seems okay). The rear servo steers the 2 sets of tires at the end and also the rudder. Try disabling the rudder and is still no enough.
Will have to see if I can reduce the force needed or if I need a stronger servo. |

| Ah yes. I read that wrong. In one of the pics you have the program cards next to the esc's. I have used Hobbywing 1080's before. Very nice and easy adjustability. Before you go to a stronger servo, make sure your control rods aren't binding for some reason. _____________________________________________ You may be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper! - Death

| Thanks Chris ! Yeah going to take it apart one by one and see if any of them are binding. The front one works so I have a little faith (vs the Puma.......... ). |

| I know I mentioned programmable servo's. I thought I should share an example. This is one I have in my spare bin. I picked it up on a can't miss sale a while ago. They can be quite pricy! Big Mike, commence drooling. _____________________________________________ You may be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper! - Death

| Oh my god. It is in a case. Wow. Don't even want to ask how much. 440oz is about 12Kg pull when install in Canada.
BTW I got it all going with the existing 35Kg servo. The problem was I didn't tighten the servo arm properly (i.e. with the two lock screws and the top mount screw). So I am smooth sailing again !
Another question....... Everything seems to be working without the BEC. Should I bother with it ? The receiver seems to be driving the servos just fine without the BEC.

| Okay figured out if I don't use the BCE I won't get 8.4V to the servo and it won't be 35Kg pull so decided to put it in. The beast is alive. Just had a test run of the lower. Need 8 channel for this: 1. Throttle 2. Steering for the two 35Kg Servo 3. Turret Rotation 4. Gun Elevation 5. Two speed transmission servo (3 position on pots - Low/Neutral/High) 6. Throttle for propeller 7. Lighting The BCE patch board has two spot for fans so some kind of cooling might be in my future like Big Mike said. |
