| Just maybe ground conditions are improving, here; I was able to cut my own lawn for the first time in 2014.
I plan to check the field on Friday to see what kind of shape it is in. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

Yeah, we have had a poor run of weather since Sept. 2013. All we can do as far as the outdoor meets go is keep an eye on the weather. I will keep things updated on our local conditions. My 1979 vintage Lawnboy started, to my amazement, so it is ready to cut the field if we catch a much needed break in the weather. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I am going to try to get the first cut on the field on Sat., it the weather is at all favourable.
This will be what I call a maintenance cut, just to make sure we don't have a hay field.
This will leave us with the option of the scheduled May 17th outdoor meet, if the weather cooperates. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I did not get the cut done yesterday but I did check the field yesterday.
It was a bit damp but could be walked on; it was better than Sept. 2013 for those that were there and remember it.
I will try to get the cut done this aft. or evening.
The uncertain thing is the weather forecast for the upcoming week, right now there is rain forecast for just about every day.
All we can do is wait and see how accurate the forecast is. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

Thanks That's just a quick maintenance trim to keep it from being a hayfield, it still takes an hour. A cut for a battle day takes more time with the lawn mower and also weed whips and leaf blowers and takes two people 2+ hours. The weather forecast this week is not looking good, we will have to keep an eye on it. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Unfortunately, it is not looking good as af this morning.
Things are wet here, and the forecast calls for substantial rain Thurs. and Fri.
The Sat. forecast doesn't look too bad but the difficulty is that the ground is soaked (again) and I need a dry Thurs. or Fri. to prepare the field, which we are not going to get.
It does not look like there is much choice but to look at Sat. May 24th. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| OK .. so the battle day of May the 17 Saturday is what ??? Called off ?? Can we get confirrmation???
Also this site has a Battle Status buttion and it is once again not updated to show what is going on and when ?? If you want people to show up they have to be informed and updated as to what is going on .Many members have a long drive and also car pool so plans have to be made ahead of time as you know ,so a OFFICIAL BATTLE DAY STATUS is needed and should be updated ASAP .
I am not trying to be so critical but the CAN AM website is kind of leaving us in the dark.
Thanks Glen for the on site battle feild info and prep. _____________________________________________ The Great Pan-Tiger |

| DEFINITELY not going to happen tomorrow.
I am hoping we can regroup for May 24th but this is totally at the whim of the weather, which has been running against us since Sept. 2013. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Thanks for the update Glen, I will unpack the car and tell my two tankers its a no go. Hay Stinger , Im good with the being critical comment , I think its may be needed , if some one took on the job of updating the board and club members then he should do so or make arrangments for some one else to do so when time does not permit. As for Glens update, well we had a nice sunny and dry day here and so that why an update is needed and some one to make a definate call ? Maybe things improved today on site and I would not consider Glens info a confirmation , do you ?? Then maybe post it on the main page ? As for help boy are you wrong!!! I do my fair share of help when i am on site all the time! I try to show up early and am usually the last one to leave (Derek and I both). I take out tables for set up and also bring them in to the comunity center when we finished, I help out with the BBQ and have supplyed some burgers, dogs ,buns, chips for free when ever I could manage it, I have built buildings , bridges and supplyed some trees to the group, I have made trips out to the battle feild for build days in the past at the cost of $70 in gas to HELP out my friends, I try and help others with their tanks if I can, I LONE out my tanks to others and Kids to try, I helped out any one I could at the windsor show to move in and move out and I did not leave early. Also I have been helping out in this group long before you came onboard and will continue to help when I can ,so I dont think you have the right to make that call where I am concerned. I dont do it for a pat on the back, I do it to help out my friend's and have fun in the hobby. its all good Aswell others help out where and when they can thats just the way things are no need to rub someone's nose in it. You need help ask but if you decide to take on a task on your own that's your decision. I see that you have done some work on the battle feild and I know how hard it is to dig in that hard ground for I and others have done it in the past years and I thank you for the hard work and the improvments it does look nice. But dont hold it against others in the group that can not there to help, that's not fair. So if wanting clear update's on the battle dates is too much to ask them I apologize. From Frank. _____________________________________________ The Great Pan-Tiger |
